Ways to improve your Machine Lubrication Program

f:id:whyps:20171215190020j:plain

Lubrication is an essential step in a maintenance of a system, Lubrication is the process or technique employed to reduce friction between, and wear of one or both, surfaces in proximity and moving relative to each other, by interposing a substance called a lubricant in between them, Proper lubrication of system allows continous operation of equipment, reduces rate of wear, and prevents excessive stresses or seizures at bearings. When lubrication breaks down, components can rub destructively against each other, causing heat, local welding, destructive damage and failure.

So Here is some basics thing you know to develop a world-class lubrication program

  • Be proactive:  when applied correctly, a proactive maintenance strategy can double or triple lubricant service life. This is achieved by reducing the conditions that stress an oil (cleaner, cooler, drier, etc.).Know Your Lubrication Needs: The next time you award a supply contract for lubrication, take the time to actually determine your company’s needs. The process may reveal that you have been paying for services that you don’t value or would prefer to buy elsewhere.
  • Skills Foster Reliability: If what you want most is to avoid machine failure, then what you need most are maintenance skills that foster intrinsic machine reliability.

Grove Launches GMK4090 All-Terrain Taxi Crane

Manitowoc has introduced a new all-terrain crane, the best-in-class Grove GMK4090. The new taxi crane features a modern, compact design that puts emphasis on roadability and maneuverability. The new crane comes in response to customer demand for lightweight, flexible taxi cranes in the 90 t (100 USt) capacity class. It represents a generational upgrade over the previous GMK4080-1/GMK4100B, a popular all-terrain crane in Europe due to its versatility in applications, especially with rental companies.

The GMK4090 offers a 51 m (167 ft), six-section MEGAFORM boom that utilizes Grove’s TWIN-LOCK pinning system. Boosting its overall reach is a 9/15 m (49 ft) bi-fold swing-away jib that can be extended with a 6 m (20 ft) boom extension for a total jib length of 21 m (69 ft). The new taxi model also offers excellent roadability and travel features. The GMK4090 can travel with a maximum 18.3 t (20.2 USt) counterweight, and within 12 t (13 USt)/axle it can transport up to 9.1 t (10 USt) to the job site without the need for an additional transport truck. The result is a taxi crane with a strong capacity that can keep transport costs low.

CASE 580 Super N Backhoe Loader

f:id:whyps:20170816175536j:plain

Super N offers more of what makes the 580N great. More horsepower. More breakout. More loader strength. More lifting power. More attachment versatility. And now with an SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) solution and new ECO-mode, power and efficiency are better than ever. All that and an impressive list of other performance-enhancing features are why the 580 Super N more than lives up to “super”.

Features:

Productivity: The 580 Super N offers superior performance on both the backhoe and loader side of the machine. The PowerLift™ feature increases operator productivity by delivering a lifting capacity of nearly 4,000 lbs – the highest in its class.

Fuel Efficiency: CASE chose an SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) Tier 4 Final solution to meet emissions regulations without sacrificing strength. That’s because SCR is an after-treatment system. It lets the engine breathe easier and run at peak performance, which translates to maximum power. Plus, SCR is simple. No regeneration. No new filters. Just pour a little DEF (Diesel Exhaust Fluid) and go.

Webtool Electro-Hydraulic Power Pack

f:id:whyps:20170811183254j:plain

Webtool is announcing the industry’s first battery-powered, high-pressure hydraulic power pack, enabling smaller and inspection class ROVs access to the Webtool range of hydraulic wire rope and Softline fiber rope cutters, at Offshore Europe 2017. In addition, the stand will feature the Webtool Cable Retrieval Tool (CRT200), developed in consultation with international certification body and classification society, DNV-GL, and the Webtool portable, Softline, deck emergency cutter for offshore vessels.

The lightweight, battery powered power pack gives electric ROVs a Webtool cutting capability for Softline ropes and guidewires. Called EHP350, it is designed to be used with Webtool wire rope and softline at water depths up to 1000m.

“The Webtool electro-hydraulic power pack is an important advance in broadening the scope for our cutters to be deployed on all-electric, smaller ROVs,” says Keith Elliot, engineering director, Allspeeds Ltd. “It allows up to 20 cuts on a single charge of the power pack’s high capacity, rechargeable battery.”
